About me
Follow me at my new Twitter location! @NdeSPED2 to learn the latest about Coherence and Special Education.
I joined the NDE in January 2019. My career path includes experience serving students with Special Education needs, identifying mentorships for Highly Gifted students, Assessment Coordinator responsibilities, and Instructional Coaching. At the NDE my work the past 4 years includes; revamping Nebraska Continuous Improvement, partnering with Superintendents on Rule 10 Compliance Visits, collaborating with Non-Public school systems and serving on various committees to increase equitable opportunities for each Nebraska student regardless of geographic location. Recently I was given the opportunity to serve as Assistant Administrator in the Office of Special Education. I look forward to increasing the coherence between general and special education staff to better meet the needs of all Nebraska students in 2023 and beyond.
This is also my 12th year with serving as an Adjunct Professor at UNL, my classes focus on the historical background of Special Education and preparing future teachers with a toolkit of instructional methods.
